Patricia Kelmar is the director of health care campaigns for U.S. PIRG. PIRG is a federation of state-based, citizen-funded Public Interest Research Groups in 25 states. Leading PIRG's high value health care program, Patricia works toward bipartisan solutions to high costs and low quality of health care. She has dedicated her career to nonprofit advocacy on behalf of consumers in the areas of health care cost, access and quality, financial security, and consumer protection. Patricia honed her health policy skills as the Associate State Director for AARP New Jersey and later as Senior Policy Advisor to the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute.

Before joining PIRG, she spent a decade consulting for state and national nonprofits, offering policy analysis, strategic planning, media relations, and foundation grant fundraising. She received a B.A. from Boston College and a J.D. from George Washington University Law School. She is a licensed member of the Virginia Bar.
