Sharity Ludwig, a licensed Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist (EPDH), is the Director of Alternative Care Models for DentaQuest, the largest Medicaid dental benefits administrator in the country. Â In this role, she focuses on developing and implementing innovative strategies and processes for community-based care, as well as models of care designed to adapt to industry shifts and ultimately achieve the quadruple aim.
Specifically, she oversees teledentistry and co-leads the unique Preventistry approach to care across the DentaQuest-affiliated Advantage Dental+ practices. Sharity is passionate about dental prevention and disease management and has published research on preventive dental care, with a focus on at-risk pregnant women and children, as well as teledentistry.
Previously, she treated patients as a clinical dental hygienist in both a federally qualified health center and private practice. Her background also includes coordinating dental services among a variety of public and private dentistry stakeholders for a public health department and serving as project director for a Phase 3 randomized clinical trial of silver diamine fluoride.
Sharity holds a Master of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration and Interprofessional Leadership from the University of California, San Francisco and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene with an emphasis in education from Oregon Institute of Technology.
